The Art of Whine
Our signature fundraiser, also known as “Whine & Cheese,” is held every other year at the Heard Museum: an evening of live music, wine, and a silent auction, all in support of Arizona readers.
The next date and ticket details are announced in our newsletter. Businesses interested in sponsoring or donating an auction item can contact us any time of year.
Questions and answers
Is my donation tax-deductible?
Yes. The Friends are a 501(c)(3) public charity and no goods or services are provided in exchange for gifts. You will receive a written acknowledgment.
What’s the difference between the Friends and the Library?
The Arizona Talking Book Library is a public library run by the Arizona State Library. The Friends are an independent charity that raises money and advocates for it. Sign up for books with the library; support the mission through the Friends.
Who qualifies for free talking books?
Any Arizona resident who cannot read standard print because of blindness or low vision, a physical disability that makes holding a book or turning pages difficult, or a reading disability such as dyslexia. Children and adults alike.
Can I donate books, players, or equipment?
The library’s materials come through the National Library Service, so it cannot accept used books or players. Cash gifts let us buy what patrons need. Contact us if you have something specific in mind.
How do I make a gift in my will?
Email us and we will send suggested bequest language and our legal information.
